MAKE is the most creative store in the universe! Our Granville Island store has been THE place to find one-of-a-kind, hand-made, and funky gifts for almost 25 years. We feature local artisans and makers, like Ole Originals, and locally produced products and gifts by Canadian artists like Angie Coates and Marcus Hynes and others. Our famous MAKE Originals brand uses art created in-house and produced in our East Van studio.
MAKE Is also the ultimate place to create your own custom work with embroidery, engraving, or printing.
At MAKE, we celebrate creativity and we love great design. You will be inspired by our unique collection of one-of-a-kind, hand-made, quirky, and unique items for home, baby, children and adults. We have a great selection of items that are artisanal and traditionally hand-crafted, upcycled and recycled, and local.
All the items in our MAKE Originals collection are designed and created in Vancouver and all of them are exclusive to MAKE.
In addition to this collection we regularly feature exclusive designs by local artists such as Amanda Weedmark, Andrea Hooge, Angie Q Coates, Carson Ting and Billion Buns, Marcus Hynes, and Marie Hebert
MAKE is also a place to get creative! MAKE has the technology in our store, and on our website, to help you create a one-of-a-kind custom gift.
At MAKE you can customize just about anything with direct-to-garment printing, laser engraving and embroidery. No matter which technology you choose, we are ready with experienced technicians, designers, quality apparel and interesting items ready for you to adorn with your own special message. We can also use our customization technologies to personalize your own items.

Canada's most sustainable retail experience now lives at MAKE on Granville Island. In April of 2021 MAKE teamed up with Tentree to create their first “store-within-a-store”. This unique POP UP offers a large selection of Tentree’s seasonal collections and has contributed to the planting of over 62,000 trees!
A big part of the culture of MAKE is about giving back to the community.
During the early days of COVID, MAKE donated over 15,000 masks to local charities. MAKE is currently running a fundraiser for the Urban Native Youth Association that will see us donate 100% of the proceeds of sales of orange t-shirts.
In the fall of 2021 MAKE joined forces with UNYA, the Urban Native Youth Association, to print and sell orange t-shirts for Orange Shirt Day. The shirt design was donated by local indigenous artist KC Hall with a goal of donating 100% of the proceeds to UNYA The Urban Native Youth Association.
To date, MAKE has raised over $88,000 for UNYA! READ MORE HERE.

In mid May of 2020, MAKE bucked the COVID-19 trend and opened a beautiful 3,000 square foot, ground-floor boutique in historic Gastown. The store is located at 170 Water Street, on the corner of Water and Cambie, in the historic Leckie Building. Visit their website to find out more.
